How to Calculate Mulch
Multiply length by width for square footage. Multiply by depth in feet. Divide cubic feet by 27 for cubic yards. One cubic yard covers 162 sq ft at 2 inches deep.
Frequently Asked Questions
How deep should mulch be?
50-75 mm (2-3 in) for flower beds and around trees. 75-100 mm (3-4 in) for weed suppression. Never pile mulch against tree trunks or plant stems.
How many bags of mulch do I need?
A standard 50-litre (2 cu ft) bag covers roughly 1 m² (12 sq ft) at 50 mm (2 in) deep. For 10 m², you need about 9 bags at that depth.
